Remi Bader’s fans are feeling betrayed.
The influencer revealed her 2023 weight-loss surgery on Wednesday, leading many social media users to accuse her of “waiting to get paid” before sharing her story.
“She blocked SO many people who asked this in her comments for months,” one individual commented on a Page Six TikTok showing Bader’s “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast interview.
Another pointed out, “The part that made people mad is she tried to make it look like she worked out and ate right and then blocked anyone who called her out about it.”
Others called the “lying … bizarre,” with one accusing the 30-year-old of “gaslighting all her fans.”
Many, however, pointed out that “it’s a personal choice to share intimate details” and “she didn’t even have to tell anyone” since she “owes [her] followers nothing.”
One claimed, “Weight care is HEALTH CARE and she deserves privacy until she is ready to share.”
Bader’s rep has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
In addition to opening up to Khloé Kardashian about her single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy, which involved removing “80 percent of [her] stomach,” Bader spoke to Self.
The model, who lost “more than 140 pounds in less than a year,” told the magazine that it was “confusing” to adjust to her body transformation.
“I never thought it would be this quick,” she said. “I never wanted to be this size.”
She also got real about her recovery, which involved weeks of vomiting, which led to a “deep depression.”
Bader clarified that she tried other methods of losing weight before going under the knife, noting that taking Ozempic did not work for her.
The TikTok star said so in a January 2023 “Not Skinny But Not Fat” episode, explaining her “bingeing got so much worse” after getting off semaglutide.
Eight months later, she made it clear that she would no longer be speaking publicly about her weight due to “ridiculous” comments from trolls.
“My health journey will now be my business,” Bader told her followers through tears in a September 2023 video. “Shaming someone and the way they look every single day is so disgusting.”
