Paige DeSorbo thinks her then-boyfriend, Craig Conover, was her “secret hater.”
On Wednesday’s episode of “Summer House,” DeSorbo confided in bestie Ciara Miller about a previous conversation she had with the “Southern Charm” star.
At the time, Conover had confessed to DeSorbo that he feared she would neglect their relationship amid her months-long “Giggly Squad” podcast tour.
“Basically, like, ‘What about me? Woe is me,’” Miller, 29, suggested.
DeSorbo, 32, agreed and claimed that Conover, 37, “gets his feelings hurt” if he sees her “shining.”
“I’m not gonna tell you again, OK?” the model cryptically quipped.
DeSorbo further revealed that Conover privately admitted to having insecurities over her work schedule and purposely did not bring those up on camera.
“When we got home, he was like, ‘Well, obviously on-camera, I’m not going to say that you’re way busier than me and that your s–t is bigger,’” she recalled. “I go, ‘Why?’ He goes, ‘Well that would be negative.’ I go, ‘For you! Why couldn’t you have said that? Like, that is what’s happening. That validates my s–t.’”
“I was like, ‘am I dating a secret hater?’” she asked.
Miller immediately agreed and said, “Hater, hater, hater.”
“That is a f–king hater a– boyfriend,” Miller elaborated in a confessional. “Paige shouldn’t have to pay for your lack of self-confidence and your lack of self-esteem. Honestly, this is all him. I’ve had this conversation multiple times with Paige. Somehow, someway, it does end up becoming the Craig show.”
DeSorbo added that the whole situation made her “feel so f–king weird” and that if she told her mother about the conversation, she would “f–king kill [her].”
A few months later, the podcast co-host ended their three-year relationship, explaining that his hesitations over her career successes played a major role in her decision.
“There were times when things would happen in my career. Would I tell him? No, absolutely not,” she said during last week’s “Summer House” aftershow.
“Like, when I would get certain milestones, no, I wouldn’t tell him because I knew he would want to be happy for me, but deep down, he would not be.”
The fashionista further claimed that “anytime” she hit a professional milestone, he would “find a way to make it about him.”
“When I started having panic attacks this fall while I was doing ‘Giggly Squad’ shows, he just thought it was because I worked too much,” she shared. “So, it played into his, ‘Well, you work too much, and you shouldn’t be doing all of this.’”
“Summer House” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
