On Tuesday night, Jenna Ortega, 22, received a new nickname during her appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” thanks to her trompe l’oeil minidress.
Dressed by stylist Enrique Melendez, the “Wednesday” star wore an Oscar de la Renta red mosaic number from the fall 2025 collection. And while the $13,000 rose-inspired look was inspired by stained glass, it’s not actually made from the dangerous stuff but rather a type of tough plastic.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the beauty wasn’t painful.
“I’m not going to lie, sometimes there’s like pieces of it that are poking my ass,” she told the talk show host after he complimented the intricate creation. “Every time I sit,” she added as the audience laughed,
“Let’s have some medics stand by,” Colbert jokingly responded.
Ortega replied, “I feel uncomfortable and extremely comfortable at the same time.”
The jaw-dropping gown featured a bold red floral appliqué near the neckline and a smaller iteration on the waist. She accented the unique dress with a simple pendant necklace and strappy black heels.
Ortega’s beauty look — a vampy red lip and dark brown locks with a subtle red tint — mirrored her cherry-colored gown.
Later on in the show, Ortega and Colbert discussed the much-anticipated Season Two of “Wednesday,” which is slated to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2025.
“So, we’ve got Lady Gaga joining our show,” the actress exclaimed as the crowd loudly cheered for the guest star. “We are so, so unbelievably excited.”
While details are scant about Gaga’s appearance, Variety reports that it’ll be a quick cameo rather than a larger role.
Whatever the plot, we’re excited for the gothic fashion.
