Disney paid social media guru to vet Rachel Zegler’s posts after anti-Trump comments

Disney reportedly hired a social media guru to vet “Snow White” star Rachel Zegler’s posts after she blasted President Trump and his supporters.

Variety reported on Tuesday that the film’s producer Marc Platt approached the actress about working with the expert after she posted “F–k Donald Trump” and “May Trump supporters … never know peace” following the 2024 presidential election.

Per the outlet, Disney feared that Zegler’s politically charged posts would deter half of their potential audience from watching the live-action musical, which reportedly cost $270 million to make.

The “West Side Story” star — who apologized for her remarks — agreed to work with the guru leading up to the release of “Snow White” on March 21.

Disney’s frustrations with Zegler, 23, reportedly began in August 2024 after the movie’s teaser trailer debuted at the D23 expo.

At the time, she took to X to thank fans for helping the promo reach 120 million views in one day.

Zegler also expressed her support for Palestinians amid the Israel-Hamas war, adding, “and always remember, free palestine.”

The thread received 8.9 million views, with many critics upset that she would use the Disney film to push her political beliefs.

According to Variety, the “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” star initially stood her ground against studio execs despite her co-star Gal Gadot — an Israeli actress — receiving death threats.

Per the outlet, Disney had to pay for the “Wonder Woman” star, 39, to receive extra security as a result.

“She didn’t understand the repercussions of her actions as far as what that meant for the film, for Gal, for anyone,” one source told Variety.

Aside from her social media posts, Zegler caused a frenzy for Disney when she slammed the original 1937 movie as “weird” and sexist at the D23 fan expo in 2022.

Variety also learned that Zegler and Gadot got along while filming “Snow White” and tension only started leading up to the movie’s premiere.

However, some believe that Disney fueled rumors of a feud between the two by scheduling them for separate events on the film’s press tour.

Earlier this month, a source told People that Zegler and Gadot were “not friends” due to their “huge age gap” and “very different political views.”

Reps for Zegler and Disney were not immediately available to Page Six for comment.
