Rumors are swirling that Joe Biden’s niece — political problem child Caroline Biden — was once romantically involved with alleged crypto torture bro William Duplessie, sources allege to Page Six.
The pair are not currently together, and it’s unknown when they dated.
A lawyer for Duplessie had no comment, and we were unable to reach Biden.
Duplessie – along with crypto investor John Woeltz — is accused of kidnapping and torturing an Italian crypto millionaire, Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan, at a posh Soho townhouse in order to get the alleged victim’s Bitcoin password.
It seems like the hard-partying Duplessie, 32, had an interest in political power.
Another source told Page Six that the crypto investor, who became known around NYC for dropping thousands on bottle service, would allegedly tell people he met on the party scene that he was an arms dealer with political aspirations.
“William would say he works with the CIA and that he did a big arms deal,” said a source. “He would tell people he was running to be a Senator in Kentucky.”
TikToker Taylor Pare has been chronicling the crypto scandal, and has also claimed that Duplessie and Biden formerly dated.
Biden, 38, the daughter of the former president’s brother, James, has also previously been in the headlines for getting in trouble with the law.
In August 2019 the Georgetown University grad was arrested for driving under the influence without a license after smashing into a tree in Lower Merion Township, Penn., according to public records.
A blood test showed carisoprodol and lorazepam in her system and there were pill bottles in her car, records show.
She was sentenced to probation.
In 2017, Caroline was arrested for going on a $110,000 shopping spree at the high-end Manhattan pharmacy Bigelow Apothecaries on a stolen credit card.
A felony conviction was later tossed, and she was allowed to re-plead to the lesser charge of petty larceny as part of a deal hashed out by her lawyers, The Post reported at the time.
“I not only acknowledge my conduct and take responsibility but deeply regret the harm caused,” she told Justice Curtis Farber.
“I can assure you that I have made amends, full restitution, completed community service and that nothing like this will ever happen again,” added Biden at the time.
In 2013, she was arrested after allegedly slapping a NYPD officer. The cops had been called over a dispute Biden had with a roommate.
A source at the time told Page Six that Biden was “screaming at the top of her lungs” after her roommate confronted her about unpaid rent at their $3,500-a-month digs.
She was sentenced to probation.
After that, she checked into a posh rehab in Delray Beach, Fla., for “anger issues.”
In the completely unrelated crypto case, Duplessie is facing charges of kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, assault and weapons possession. He has been remanded without bail.
On Friday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced it secured an indictment against Duplessie.
The papers will remain sealed until his arraignment on June 11.
But, “the facts here are hotly disputed, his involvement is hotly disputed,” Duplessie’s attorney Sanford Talkin has told a judge in his defense.
Manhattan prosecutors alleged that the victim, Caturan, 28, was tied to a chair with electrical wire, tazed while standing in water, cut on his legs and arm with a chainsaw, urinated on and forced to take drugs while being held in the $21 million-dollar townhouse on Prince Street.
